Lucas Bretas

I am currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). From 2020 to 2022, I worked in the Floriculture sector, where I had the opportunity to engage in activities related to agricultural production technologies, with a focus on evaluating the potential effects of saline stress on plant physiology. Presently, I am a member of the Brazilian Laboratory of Invertebrate Neurobiology and Physiology (Brain&Phy), where I specialize in agricultural biotechnology by developing sustainable technologies for biological pest control using by-products of plant materials. One of our projects focuses on the utilization of bioactive compounds from Cannabis sativa L. in pest management.

Committed to innovative research and projects, my journey is driven by the pursuit of not only practical experience in the field but also the development of interpersonal skills, leadership, and teamwork abilities. I believe in the importance of staying updated with the trends and technologies in my field, as well as the challenges of the future centered on sustainable agricultural development and production. In this context, being a member of Brain&Phy is a unique opportunity.
