Agricultural Engineer (2017) from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV) – Brazil. During my undergraduate studies, I spent three semesters as an exchange student at Missouri State University (MSU). I also had the opportunity to work as an intern in the Entomology Department at the University of Florida (UF) – EUA. Since then, I have been working with Entomology.
As a Master’s student, I worked with plant-based compounds (especially essential oils) and biological control agents (specifically lady beetles and green lacewings) seeking for reduced-risk alternatives to achieve improved and eco-friendly pest management strategies (2017-2019).
As a Ph.D. student, I have continued the work I did during my masters; however, I am now heavily interested in understanding the physiological basis of the interactions between biopesticides and their targets inside the insect body (2019 – Present).
My research interests are:
Insect Physiology
Prospection of higher selective insecticide molecules
Risk assessment of pesticides
Biological control agents and Biorational pest management
