Vinícius Fonsêca dos Santos

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), and developed an interest in research early on during my undergraduate studies. Throughout that period, I worked on plant ecophysiology projects focused on re-vegetating degraded areas, while also paying close attention to insects in the field and being fascinated by them.
During the sixth semester of my degree, I had an internship at the Invertebrate Ecology and Systematics Laboratory. It was during this time that my interest in insects grew, leading me to decide to pursue this field throughout my academic and professional journey.
Currently, I am dedicated to studying the relationship between morphometrics and behavior in Drosophilidae, specifically focusing on Drosophila suzukii, an agriculturally important species in various countries. Additionally, I am also interested in neurobiology and insect behavior.
